Are any of the characters based on anyone?
A handful of characters were based on the personalities of a few people who I know personally. For instance, Jacques Heepoe is supposed to be Anthony in an offshoot way. And Brock was intentionally meant to be my pal Love. Clawra represents all of my favorite girlfriends rolled into one. I like to think that a little bit of each of my close friends can be found here and there in the characters.

Are any of the characters based on anything?
Um, yeah, George is the personification of a girl's period and Mr. X is a dookie. Eeew.

What does "spasmodica" mean?
I cannabalized spasmodica from parts of other words that I liked at the time, which sadly I can no longer remember. I also liked words that ended in "ica" such as robotica. The idea of a made-up word really appealed to me because I thought I could create something that sounded like it meant playful, fun and silly. Little did I know that "spasmodica" is actually a real word in Italian – it means spasmodic. And this word is usually associated with a neurological condition called disfonia spasmodic. So much for being fun. :(

Is it true that Kelly Osbourne* owns a George doll?
Yes, it's true! I'm a big Kelly O fan and I gave Kelly a George doll when I met her in Chicago at her first show. Woohoo! I decided that I wanted to give her something the day before her concert, so I stayed up until the wee hours of the night making George.

*Neither Kelly Osbourne nor The Osbournes endorses Spasmodica, any of its individual creatures, or this site in any way, shape or form. But I love them all nonetheless.

Can I have a doll for free?
Bite me. On the other hand, bartering is always nice. What would you like to trade? Make me an offer.

What if I have a different question than the ones posed here?
I'd be happy to answer your special question. Just send me a note at info AT spasmodica DOT com (be sure to remove the spaces between the words and to change the "at" and "dot" to their respective symbols). You can also just use the handy dandy form.

So-and-so is my favorite character. Can you make him/her on a t-shirt?
I love receiving inquiries like these. If there's a character that you'd like to see on something that's not currently offered, please let me know. Jacques Heepoe seemed to be a common fave, so very shortly we'll be offering him on tees. Yippee!
